Our Parenting Panel

Flying Cape is very proud to present our Parenting Panel! Consisting of both mummies and daddies,  we are grateful that they have kindly agreed to work with Flying Cape, speaking from their hearts and sharing their unique perspectives of what is important for them and their families. You will certainly gain fresh perspectives and even enjoy a chuckle or two from reading their respective witty and insightful comments.

There are no “model answers” in parenting so we hope that if you are wondering what other parents will do in particular situations?  Or if your parenting style is appropriate? Do write in and we will get our parenting panel to reply!

It takes a village to raise a child!

So bravely and wisely soldier on in your parenting journey, knowing that you are not alone 🙂

About Tracey Or
Tracey is a stay-at-home-mother to five lovely children aged six months, four years, seven years, 10 years and 12 years. The former General Paper and Project Work tutor at a local junior college who’s enjoyed coaching and mentoring young people both in church and at work, now spends most of her days at home investing in her lively brood. An intentional parent, she makes it her mission and call to help children imbibe good values, grow character and pursue purpose in what they do.

Her experiences with her own children have taken on many adventurous turns. She is currently homeschooling her two older children through their primary school years with her eldest being a recent PSLE graduate. Together with her husband Jayce, also an educator, they have gone “off the beaten” track in education, embarking two years ago on a year long family sabbatical to Melbourne where they travelled, homeschooled and immersed their children in the public school system there. Her family, hence has explored both conventional and alternative pathways of education in accordance with their family’s priorities, goals and children’s learning needs.

An alumnus of the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, Tracey writes freelance and enjoys blogging at her website Memoirs of a Budget Mum, where she shares her heart on parenting, frugal play and large family living. She loves crafting, cooking and spending time with her family through simple frugal fun.
